The Reclaimed Board Booth is clad on its sides and back in timber boards that have had a previous life, so they carry nail holes, traces of old paint and uneven colour. The upholstery is a distressed chestnut leather in horizontal bands about 20 cm deep, and the corners are held with exposed black iron angle brackets and cross-head bolts.
Reclaimed timber gives material a second use and brings genuine character, but it needs honesty in specification. Supply is confirmed per project; boards vary in colour and texture from batch to batch; and old timber is cleaned, de-nailed, kiln-dried where needed and sealed before use. We tell you the source we can document for your order.
The bolted construction means the cladding and upholstered panels can be removed and replaced individually. The leather can be substituted with a recycled-content or wool fabric.
