Most upholstered furniture is held together with glue and staples, which makes it quick to build and very hard to take apart. The Pin-and-Peg Booth is assembled without glue. The back bolts to the seat box behind brass caps; the cushions hang on exposed brass hooks with elastic webbing straps; the timber members join with exposed tenons locked by brass pins; and the covers zip off.
The practical result is that every part can be separated with basic hand tools: for repair, for replacement or, at the very end, for sorting by material. The visible fixings are deliberate, making the construction legible to staff and guests.
Mechanical joints need good engineering to stay tight under daily commercial loads, so the drawings specify each fixing and its torque or fit. Timber is solid hardwood; covers can be any contract fabric, including wool or recycled-content options from our material collection.
